gifted humans live among the mortals and blend in easily. they are normal humans, though born with certain gifts or special abilities which make them differ from other humans. often they are included in paranormal investigations and aid hunters in their work against supernatural beings.
Mortals haven't been around as long as some of the other species have been, but they have coexisted alongside them for centuries. Over the years, mortals have been the ones to act against the supernatural types. Whether it was by driving stakes through the hearts of the dead, or by persecuting dozens of people for witchcraft.
Many mortals have banded together to form guilds and factions against the supernatural beings, such as Knights Templars or Hunter groups, fighting back against them and working to quell the supernatural numbers in any way that they can. Now in present day, most mortals are still unaware of the existence of supernatural beings. With the rise of technology, many people have been adamant to prove their existence, but there are still those who are skeptical. This isn't to say that hunters aren't a thing! Though rare, there are those who live to hunt down the paranormal and supernatural but it varies. Some are called "ghost hunters" who do paranormal investigations, while there are others who hunt witches, vampires or werewolves.
